John is the firm’s managing partner. A Chartered Accountant and qualified business coach, John also works with clients on strategic and business planning as well as lifestyle and HR issues. He received the 2010 MindShop® Rising Star Award for his work as a consultant and facilitator and in 2013 he began working with Growth Accelerator as a Growth Coach.
Having graduated from the University of Sheffield, John returned to the Black Country to qualify and work for 14 years for a regional firm. In 1991 he moved to Worcestershire helping to grow Crowther Beard.
John is very active in the local community. He was Chair of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Governing Body of Prince Henry’s High School Academy, Evesham having been Chair from 2004 to 2010. In addition he is a trustee of the EVA Evesham Riverside Shopmobility and of The Ashmolean at Broadway, a community museum.
John has 2 adult daughters and lives in Worcester with his partner, Wendy. His interests outside work include jazz music and sport, especially golf, rugby, cricket and his beloved Baggies.
Chris is a Chartered Tax Advisor, with over 40 years tax experience, and uses his expertise to support clients (both corporate and personal) on all tax issues and to provide invaluable tax planning. He has a particular interest in planning for the potential impact of capital taxes and achieving the vast tax savings that can be made in this area. He has considerable experience in the area of company re-organisations and sales and the extensive tax issues that are involved.
Chris is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and is often called upon by other practitioners to advise them on issues affecting their clients.
When he's not working, Chris can be found playing golf or skittles, exploring his family tree or travelling and drinking cider.
Dan is the Senior Manager in the firm looking after a wide range of clients and the firm’s audits. He is also the firm's 'Cloud Accounting' expert.
Dan is from Worcester having attended Worcester Royal Grammar School before training as an accountant with a Worcester firm. Once qualified Dan spent some time in commerce as a management accountant before returning to the profession. He joined the firm in August 2013.
A keen sportsman, Dan is a proficient golfer and a lifetime fan of Chelsea FC. Dan lives in rural Worcestershire with his wife and son Freddie.
Sadie joined the firm in March 2017 as a Senior Accountant and is responsible for accounts and audit compliance.
Sadie is ACA and CTA qualified and started her career at Deloitte where she trained. From there she moved to Andersen’s, working in the tax department on large corporate clients and Corporate Finance Transactions. She later worked in the Corporate Tax function of PWC.
Sadie lives locally with her husband and 4 children.
Personal Tax Manager
Colin Storey joined the firm in 2014 from Baker Tilly in Hereford where he was based for nearly 20 years as a personal tax manager. Colin trained whilst employed by HMRC where he spent 17 years, latterly as an Inspector of Taxes in Hereford and Shrewsbury.
In addition to his vast experience in dealing with individual’s tax affairs, Colin also has a specialist interest in partnerships, including LLP’s and dealing with solicitors, estate agents, GP’s and medical consultants.
In his spare time Colin enjoys visiting historic homes and indulging his love of steam trains. He is also a supporter of Shrewsbury Town Football Club - he never misses a game!
As Administration Manager, Wendy is also Personal Assistant to the Partners, Wendy’s responsibilities are therefore vast. Outside of work, Wendy enjoys cooking – especially baking cakes and desserts, going to the theatre and concerts, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Lewis is a trainee accountant at CB, Chartered Accountants. He has a degree in Business Management from the University of Worcester which he completed in 2015. Since then he has been working in accountancy practice gaining experience within the industry. He is planning to study for ACCA.
He is a proud Aston Villa fan and is passionate about his five-a-side team called Dynamo Vlad. When he's not playing football he enjoys socialising with friends and family.
Outside work Laura spends time with her husband, family and friends as well as enjoying cooking and reading.
He has been studying for an AAT Accounting qualification since May 2013 and has already successfully passed the Introductory Certificate in Accounting and Intermediate Diploma in Accounting. He is now working towards the Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
As receptionist, Christina is your first port of call in the office, answering incoming calls. Alongside this she also helps with any administration work, supporting the rest of the team. Outside of work, Christina enjoys sewing and spending as much time with her family as she can.
Louise joined the firm in May 2017 as an Accounts Senior and is responsible for accounts and audit compliance.
Louise is AAT qualified training initially with Kendall Wadley and then completing her training with John Yelland. From there she moved to Martin G Clark & Co, working as a Semi-Senior Accountant.
She lives locally and in her spare time enjoys reading, so much so, that she owns nearly 900 books!
